A tower with a view: Pey Berland in Bordeaux

Stepping up all the 232 steps of the Pey Berland bell tower has been on my wish-list for a long time, so when Maria volunteered to join me, it was time to get to that fabulous view!

And when you're done, there are two superbe cafés to do excellent people watching from!

The bell tower is next to the cathedral Saint André. The bells were put in a different building so that the vibrations wouldn't hurt the cathedral...

Religious or not, this place is awe inspiring.

Climbing kids in Moliets

Clara got very jealous when she understood that I had been to Adrenaline Parc with my girlfriends... you went there without me? Really? (See Climbing Mamas or Monkey tree business, their first visit)
So I took both of them there - to the child version at two metres height - and they just loved it. Like they did last year. (And we checked it Clara was tall enough to do the adult version (accompanied) but she was a tiny bit short... so we'll see next year...

Very adult! You jump from 9 or 12 metres height down on the... air mat??!! Clara looked at it for a long time, declaring she wanted to try it... but I told it would be for next year. And once up there, I'm not sure she will be as brave...

Beach life in Moliets

With a weather forecast saying 31 degrees, going to the beach was a no-brainer! Our favourite beach Moliets was terribly crowded... not! I'm joking! Such a luxury to have that wast space almost to ourselves... Clara brought a friend and we had such a good time playing in the water and feeling the warm breeze...

The joy of SAND (Messanges)

My children are getting bigger but they still love the beach for all the sand..... we go there for the sea of course, but many times they spend a lot of time playing in the sand, running on the beach, looking for little stones all soft, making sand castles.....

This time we went to Messanges and joy above all joy, they had taken away the last part of the stairs down to the beach (probably to replace it) so there was a steep slope they could run down... and up... and down...

Lovely walk around the lake in Vieux Boucau

We've been here before but it really is a lovely walk around Port d'Albret, the lake in Vieux Boucau. This place is very much a family place with bikes and kids all over. This was last Sunday, a sunny and warm day. Perfect for a little picnic.

We started out clockwise from the left, followed the bike path up til the miniboat harbour, longing the lake up til the sea and heading back on the wooden lane. The effort was worth an icecream!
